UU Wellspring Ambassador Program

You’re Invited to be a UU Wellspring Ambassador!

UU Wellspring has been transformative for countless Unitarian Universalists, fostering spiritual growth, a deeper sense of UU faith identity, and meaningful engagement within congregations. Now, we’re inviting passionate supporters to help us expand this impact by becoming UU Wellspring Ambassadors!

What is the UU Wellspring Ambassador Program?

The UU Wellspring Ambassador Program is an opportunity for dedicated participants, facilitators, and alumni to help spread the word about UU Wellspring within their networks. Instead of relying solely on traditional marketing, this initiative harnesses the enthusiasm and experience of our community members to build personal connections with UU congregational leaders.

By serving as trusted voices within their communities, Ambassadors will help expand awareness of UU Wellspring’s transformative programs and demonstrate how they support congregations and individuals in deepening their UU faith.

What Do Ambassadors Do?

  • Attend quarterly Zoom meetings facilitated by the Executive Director.

  • Share insights and strategies for raising awareness about UU Wellspring.

  • Engage in personal outreach to introduce UU Wellspring to new congregations and leaders.

  • Share UU Wellspring materials on social media or with ministerial clusters.

  • Participate in creative outreach initiatives, such as video testimonials or live conversations about how UU Wellspring can benefit congregational life.

  • Provide feedback to help improve UU Wellspring’s reach and effectiveness.

Quarterly Meetings: Honoring Our History & Learning Together

Each quarterly meeting will not only focus on outreach strategies but also honor UU Wellspring’s history by celebrating some of its founders and dedicated supporters over the years. We will also feature special guest speakers who will share insights and inspiration to deepen our collective commitment to spiritual growth and leadership.

One of the five spokes of UU Wellspring is outside spiritual direction; having someone outside the group helps offer perspective during the sometimes challenging work we do in our groups.

You may choose to engage a spiritual director in the more traditional sense, or find a spiritual companion — someone to be in conversation with, who is not necessarily trained but who takes the role of companionship seriously.

There are various kinds of companionship: all are valid, each with a different flavor:

  • Certified spiritual directors are paid companions who are trained to listen deeply and have resources uniquely used to deepen a mentee’s spiritual journey. Check www.uusdn.org/wellspring or www.sdicompanions.org for suggestions.
  • Spiritual Direction Groups are groups that UU Wellspring puts together annually for small group direction.
  • Religious professionals (ministers, chaplains, religious educators, music directors) may not have formal training in spiritual direction, but do adhere to a code of professional ethics.
  • Other companions who may not have the training but can still create deep relationships with the participant; they may be a long-time mentor or someone not in your Wellspring group but who has taken UU Wellspring and is willing to be a conversation partner. Please contact Director@uuwellspring.org for support materials.
